Video: Awesome Aerial Drone Footage off the Coast of England

Check out this awesome video footage of a quadcopter flying off the North Cornwall Coast in England.

Great footage like this is really only possible with the advancement of drone technology, allowing unmanned glimpses into an area that would normally be much to dangerous to film.

What Type of Quadcopter was Used?

This was shot with a TBS Discovery Pro. From the source, “It took 19 hours to build and uses parts from over 9 different companies. I film with a GoPro Hero 3+ which is mounted on a gimbal on the quad frame. The gimbal uses two motors and a gyroscope to constantly adjust the position of the camera relative to the quad in order to keep the horizon in your footage level and rock steady. The gimbal can be controlled to pitch the camera up or down in flight.” Check out the setup below!

Where was this shot?

The location is on the north Cornwall coast in England, near Newquay. Cornwall forms the westernmost part of the south-west peninsula of the island of Great Britain, is the traditional homeland of the Cornish people and is recognized one of the Celtic Nations.

I want to learn to fly, where do I get one?

Hold on just a minute before you go off and spend $2000 on a new toy. Quadcopter drone controls take some getting used to so we recommend you start with something small like the Hubsan X4 ($60). After you have absolutely mastered that mini drone, then consider looking at Amazon or Ebay for a bigger quadcopter.

Happy Flying!!
